BLINK Cincinnatti – Mural ReMix

Mural ReMix brings Columbus Artist showcase to BLINK

MURAL REMIX will be headed south for their first appearance at BLINK CINCINNATI, the nation’s largest art, light and projection mapping festival. The fourth iteration of the event is set to feature over 80 installations spanning more than 30 blocks in Over-the-Rhine, downtown Cincinnati, The Banks, Newport and Covington.

For the BLINK Festival, the Mural ReMix seasoned digital motion artist will collaborate with the Art Academy of Cincinnati Animation Department and Columbus College of Art & Design Illustration students in producing animations that will be displayed through projection mapping onto the Energy and Grace mural designed by native Cincinnatian and internationally acclaimed abstract artist Kim Krause. Referencing Krause’s color palette, mediums, dynamic compositions, and abstract shape language; the curated reel celebrates and captures the transformation and momentum of Cincinnati’s Over-the-Rhine.

“I’m excited to have this chance to give my students the opportunity to show their work at this internationally-significant art event” explains John Cairns, CCAD professor who teaches illustration and animation.

DATES: October 17-20, 5pm to 10pm.

You want to read, I might suggest a good book, perhaps Hemingway or Melville. That’s
why they call it, the dummy copy. This, of course, is not the real copy for this entry. Rest
assured, the words will expand the concept. With clarity. Conviction.
