PERFORMANCE
Concept: CHRISTOPHER APPEL + PHIL MANERI + C.G. RYAN / Poem: CHRISTOPHER APPEL / Music: TRISTA HILL + PHIL MANERI / Video + Live AV: C.G. RYAN
COLLABORATION PROCESS
The Fuse Factory Digital Arts Lab invited C.G. Ryan, Phil Maneri, and Christopher Appeal to create a live performance for their Frequency Fridays event based on C.G.’s new media piece “Take Care.”
The group selected the concept of the four elements as flexible and universal, as well as broad and specific enough to give each artist the opportunity to create separately and then bring their parts together to unify. The group met several times to review individual work, and then decided to invite Trista Hill to collaborate on the music.
PERFORMANCE + SCREENS
“ELEMENTS was my first experience working with C.G. She has a wonderfully collaborative spirit! Our working sessions were fun and fruitful. This that first project, we have worked together in different capacities, and always, the results were something I was proud of.”
— TRISTA HILL, improv harpist
