Uncivil Rest

The global pandemic closed down many performance venues and a winter collaboration project was created to keep creative fires burning. Mas Bagua’s Andrew Davis and poet Christopher Appel invited C.G. Ryan to participate in a verbal / music / visual project.

Christopher began with the theme of “uncivility” in the political environment, with the emphasis on fear and uncertainty. Andrew developed music that met the dark, dramatic tone of the poem. C.G. documented the “everywhere” surreality of Clintonville with her 360 camera, a small suburb in the heart of the midwest in Columbus, Ohio in winter to visualize the frozen state of the world. 

“Uncivil Rest” was accepted at the international Simultan Festival for Emerging Art, Research, and Artistic Experimentations in Timisoara, Romania.
