American Idiot: Novocaine

C.G. RYAN collaborated with directos JOE BISHARA and JAMIE MARKOVICH McMAHON and lighting designer IZ NICHOLS to create an immersive scenic experience for the Abbey Theater of Dublin’s production of Green Day’s American Idiot musical. This production won multiple awards from BroadwayWorld Columbus, including BEST SCENIC DESIGN for C.G. Ryan.

C.G. developed music video for seven songs using a 3-channel scenic projection design strategy. C.G. and Joe modified the addiction concept to be more relevant to current events, as well as adapting the ‘letters home’ plot device to become a “Vlog” on a mobile phone to establish setting and time.
