DEVELOPMENT PROCESS

C.G. Ryan was developing her MFA Thesis project “Intangible Windows: VR Poetry” with a thesis installation exhibit date of May 2020. After the thesis show was cancelled, C.G. continued to develop the concept into other forms and media types (Projection Installation + Augmented Reality) to adapt with the viewing conditions of the COVID-19 pandemic.

C.G. received the INDIVIDUAL EXCELLENCE AWARD – NEW MEDIA from the Ohio Arts Council for her three years of work developing “Intangible Windows: Portals, Installation, VR Poetry.”

Project Documentation:

“I have worked with C.G. since 2017 when she took my Projection Mapping workshop at CCAD. I encouraged her to apply for our MFA - New Media program, and then was delighted to work with her as Thesis Committee Chair. After graduation, C.G. and I continued to work together on installation work through Mural ReMix, a digital arts collective. Her passion, work ethic, and congeniality are a delightful combination. I love making art with C.G.!" — JOHN CAIRNS, Digital Artist + Professor, CCAD
